Why yes, I do knit...

OK. I admit it, it has been a while since I have posted about any knitting projects. That is because I have had real(-ish) work! I am excited. I am trying to get funding from a Spanish NGO to plant a mango orchard at the hospital. When/it I get that in, we are going to expant to cashew and citrus.
But, in between saving the world, I have been working on a few projects.

First up, we have Dan's Gambian Man Purse. Made from acrylic I got in Basse, with a muslin lining I got in Basse. His going away present from the Gambia. I really like this pattern. It is done in pieces and except for the strap, none get to big, so you can carry it around and work on it. there is no shaping, and you can adjust it very easily. It is based on the Monk's Travel Satchel from Folk Bags

Next up we have my new bag. I decided I needed something a little smaller for just walking around village. The yarn was a purchased in one of the only friggin yarn stores in Ireland. They are hard to find. I think it was the Singer store actualy, which is a sewing machine store, not a yarn store! It is Celtic Aran by Tivoli colors 958 and964. I only got one skein of each, because I was going to make a hat. But I like this a lot better. Lining and zipper from Basse (zipper keeps breaking. But I took off the pully thingy and put on a keychain, so hopefully that will fix the problom.)

This we mentioned before but here is a pic of the beggining of my new Irish Diamond Shawl.
